Regarding this mistranscription - if you enter three letters followed by an asterisk (ie, BAK*) this can sometimes help. Certainly works on Ancestry anyway. I have found several mistranscribed names this way. Just recently, found my WARMANs actually written very clearly by the enumerator as WARMOUTH! To make matters worse mother Keziah was entered as Therezia! Without that asterisk method I would never have found them. HTH.
