Were Michael and Eliza married by 1851? I've found a 23 year old unmarried Michael Baker living with his widowed mother Sarah in Hartley Wintney. His birthplace is shown as Hartley Row (Ref. Hi Brenda - I didn't see any Eliza DUFFEY born Woolwich but there is an Emma DUFFEY born Woolwich at the House of Industry, Carisbrook in 1851. this is in the district of Newport, Isle of Wight. As their first child appears to have been born Newport, Isle of Wight, this could be a link? Sorry if it's a false lead.
