Hi all, Is anyone researching the RATHMELL family? From Free BMD I have the marriage of Elizabeth Albray to someone with the surname of Rathmell at Gosport in 1913. This ties up with the marriage of my wife's grandfather in 1918 which was witnessed by an Elizabeth Rathmell. Checking the 1901 census, there was a family of Rathmells living in Portsea, headed by Charlotte Rathmell who was born about 1854 in Portsmouth. Her children were William born about 1878 in Portsmouth, George born about 1882 in Ireland, Caleb born about 1885 in Portsmouth, Sarah born about 1887 in Portsmouth, and Joseph born about 1892 in Portsmouth. I have found the death index for charlotte at Portsmouth in 1910 aged 55, as well as the death index of a william Caleb Rathmell in 1899 aged 48 who I presume is Charlotte's husband, and also some birth and marriage indexes for their children. I have not been able to find the family in ancestry's 1891 census yet though. Would dearly love to hear from anyone with connections to this family.
