Hi Liz, If you have the naval service record, where does it say Charles was at the relevant dates if not those 2 ships? He could be at an accounting base like HMS Victory and perhaps on loan to the Flirt & Quail at those times. Best wishes Anita Original message: Dear listers: I have 3 documents for Charles Terdrey: 1907, his marriage at Portsmouth, which states his residence as "HMS Flirt"; 1908, birth of son at Portsmouth, which states his occupation as "Steward, HMS Quail" and then his navy seaman service records which lists the ships served on from 1906 to 1928. My question is: why dont these ships named on cert: Flirt and Quail appear in his seamans's service?...other ships such as Hecla, Blenheim, Dido, Blake, etc appear.
