    3. Corrected and updated list. Aldershot baptisms 04Oct1840 - Harriett - George & Harriet Thurvell - Aldershot - labourer 06Mar1842 - George - do 05Jan1845 - Esther - do 06Dec1846 - Robert - do 07Nov1851 - Mary - do 06Feb1853 - Rebecca - do 06Aug1865 - Henrietta - Henry & Mary Thurvile (Thurvill?) - Victoria Road - Corn Dealer Aldershot burials 1796-1959 02Oct1848 Robert Thurvell - Aldershot - 2 No sign of Elizabeth, and I couldn't see any Thurvill marriages 1754-1837. Family Search also has: 05Apr1835 - Francis - Thomas & Jane Thurvill - Publican 03Dec1837 - Frederick - do These last two look more like Shurvill in the register. However, they are worth keeping on file in case they correlate with other records. I assume you have the 1851 census entry. Many thanks for this. Can I trouble you to see if there's any sign of Harriet's sister Elizabeth. She was 23 in 1861 so her christening may be circa 1838. Kind regards Joy

    3. Thanks again Alan - the info is very much appreciated. << I assume you have the 1851 census entry.>> ...um, no. 1851 is the only one I don't have :-) Re the marriage of George THURVELL to Harriett: I appreciate your checking the Aldershot PRs. Some time ago, I found a 'possible' marriage on the IGI in Hawley between George TURVILL (son of John) and Harriet MASON (dau of Robert) on 19 November 1837 which appears to tie in with a FreeBMD marriage, registered in Farnham Q4 1837. I'll need to send for the certificate to be sure, but it looks to be a likely match. The Hawley marriage prompted me to check for Elizabeth TURVILL on the IGI and there she is - christened in Frimley on 18 Feb 1838, daughter of George and Harriet. Aah, elementary my dear Watson. with kind regards Joy --------------------------------- To help you stay safe and secure online, we've developed the all new Yahoo! Security Centre.
