What am I doing wrong. Hi Jacqueline I had the same problem initially, and this is the link that Lesley sent me: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~buriton/PetersfieldMarriage%20Menu.htm That search box you mentioned is only linked to ancestry unfortunately, but I do think a site search facility would be an extremely good addition to the website. It would make it much more accessible, and locate records from other area of the site that may well have gone un-noticed. Just a suggestion Lesley, if you're reading this? Hi Lesley and Jon Success! Have got through to the Marriage site for Petersfield straight away with the new link Jon and Lasley have given me. AND found two marriages. Thanks again for your help. Jacqueline
Hi Jon and all who use my site I am not sure what the problem is here, because I do not know what you are getting, In actual fact after the Flash introduction you should be confronted with the following page (click ther following and you should get to it) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~buriton/Main%20Menu.html from this main menu page you can access everything there is to access, I have no search facility on the site and if you are getting one, then it must belong to Ancestry, and if one is putting anything in this search facility box then I can see why it will go to Ancestry's sign up page. I am afraid I cannot explain why this is happening to some and not others. I wish I did know. So for anyone having this problem it might be better to go directly through the above address, instead of the below one. Hopefully this will work for you. Lesley PS Sorry Jon I have no idea how to include a search facility as yet, so you will have to scroll through. Except for census it's all alphabetical so not too bad. Hi Lesley I think the problem is that when we reach your site, there is a search box. This search box doesn't work on your site, but gives you ancestry results. There is a first name and last name text area, with a search button. But that has no relevance to your site, as I say, only ancestry. So, at first look, it would appear you have a search facility, so your visitors put in the name they are interested in, click search and end up on ancestry. Hope this helps? Probably not? lol Jon -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.344 / Virus Database: 267.11.1/104 - Release Date: 9/16/05
