Here is another disappearing ancestor. Thomas HOLLIS b abt 1816 IOW. I cannot find the death of him. As you can see from my notes the last recorded of him was in the 1861 Census and his wife was listed as a widow in the 1871 so it is somewhere in between the two. Thomas Hollis DOB possibly 01 Sep 1816 at Northwood IOW. Lydia, dau, 18, Needlework, Landport. Thos. Wm., son, 10, Scholar, Landport. George, son, 8, Scholar, Landport. (note - no other family with them) 1871 RG10/1140 FOL 35 PG 3 Mercy and Son are living alone at 60 Fratton street and she is listed as a widow Thomas probably died between Died between 1861 and 1871
