Hi Sharon, let me know if you ever come across an Essex connection as I have Emery's there, but it's not a common name there. My last known fellow was born in Boreham Essex (Chelmsford area) around 1805. Hi Sharon - if you don't already have this info, James and Mary are in Fareham in 1851 with baby Thomas. No relationship to head of household (William EDMONDS) given and no occupation listed. The likeliest entry I can find in 1841 is the following: Titchfield, East St District. The Alley Thomas EMERY 40 Railway Lab Mary 14 James 12 John 8 Harry 6 (these four children listed as not born in county.) Sarah EDMUNDS 20 William 18 months Charlotte 5 months (these born in county) I thought the EDMUNDS/EDMONDS link might be significant in linking the 1841 and 1851 entries. In 1851 Thomas appears to have married Sarah as all names, children and ages match. Also a marriage on FreeBMD ref 1849 Fareham for a Thomas EMERY and Sarah EMUNDS. Hope this is of interest.
