    3. Hi Lesley Thanks Edith and Frederick married in the June 1887 Quartile in Petersfield, Hants 2c/254. I have not been able to properly identify this Frederick but I strongly suspect that he was the Frederick TRUS(S)LER who was c/o 18 Feb 1868 in Treyford in Didling. If so, then his parents were William Trussler/Tussler (he was shown under both names) who was c/o 23 Sep 1883 in Sheet and his wife Charlotte Goff who was born about 1833. You asked whether the names Trus(s)ler and Tus(s)ler were interchangeable. The answer is definately yes. I first became away of the Tus(s)ler surname when it surfaced in Andover, Hants and then in the Shere area of Surrey in the 1700s. The people there seemed to move into and out of both spellings so frequently that my head began to spin simply trying to keep track of them. Indeed, at one time I shoed all the Tus(s)lers in my database as TRUSLER (as I do for all my Trusslers) but, I had to separate them back later when I found that modern day people used both spellings as distinct surnames. Once I found a family of 5 Trusslers on the 1881 who I had never heard of before until I spotted that all the children had been Christened Tussler. Some of the Shere people moved to Horsham and separated into (mainly) Trus(s)ler and Tus(s)ler. Another group went to the USA and its amazing that over there they have records of one Trus(s)ler person emigrating with his brothers and sisters when actually he was an only child and the brothers and sisters they were referring to were relations called Tus(s)ler. Now it's only a few years back that I came to realise that some of the Petersfield area Trus(s)lers were also being called Tus(s)ler at some time or other. The scribes of the day have a lot to answer for? Regards Peter -----Original Message----- From: Lesley C. I don't have the actually marriage, only the information that came from the 1901 census. They had 5 children with them.
