Andy, You are interested in baptisms and burials for Boscombe in 1877-79, but the parish registers of Boscombe St John the Evangelist do not start until 1891 (baptisms), 1895 (marriages), and 1951 (burials). There is a list of Bournemouth churches with parish register start dates on my website at http://website.lineone.net/~hantshistory/parish-bm.html The earliest Bournemouth parish was St Peter, which was created in 1845 from part of Christchurch and part of Holdenhurst. Bournemouth was in Hampshire until 1974. Registers of Bournemouth parishes are at Hampshire Record Office, but some Nonconformist church records are at Dorset Record Office. Jean reminded me to look at the list of Parish Registers for Dorset where I found this Boscombe St John (formerly part of Bournemouth St Clement) So thanks again Andy
People in Boscombe in 1877 to 1879 went to St Clement Church Bournemouth which started in 1871. That is what I meant to say in previous email. sorry if it did not come out right.
