The birth year is absolutely smack on for the 1851 census entry, with the usual 1 year apparent discrepancy! there is a marriage of a George Veck to Mary Coward at TITCHFIELD on January 13, 1827 on the IGI, is this him? He was in Fareham in 1843, we know that much. Could this be why I've been getting nowhere? Was his name really Veck? It would certainly add up why there has been such a brick wall on this family's beginnings. If you have any records from Bishops Waltham that may help on the Veck and aubery side of things, please do let me know.
