Hello all an URGENT e-mail to to alert you all to the fact that Gosport Borough council are applying to the Dioces of the council to carry out a safety audit to graves in both the East AND West parts of Anns Hill cemetery - that means both side of the road and aold and newer cemery areas. Based on experiences elsewhere this will no doubt mean that any headstones that are leaning or appear unsafe may be flattened. Plans and documents can be inspected either at the cemetery office or Leisre Services Department at Gosport Town Hall and to whom any representations should be made. Unfortunately it was dusk when Tony left and he had been locked into the cemetery but fortunately he managed to find a low enough wall for which to escape home! ))... The information regarding the cemetery appears to be recent and was discovered today. Linda and Tony
