Dear Listers, This topic is slightly off list, but I wonder if anyone can help me, and if so reply to me off list. My husband is working on the restoration of the Gosport Railway Station, that was closed down in 1969. The aim he thinks is to turn it into a mini museum, plus some new homes and office blocks, as usual.!!!! He is interested in any photos or descriptions anyone may have and the history of the station, whose someones ancestor the station master there? Thank you in advance Maria {madgefancy@hotmail.com}
I tried to reply to you personally at your Email but the address was rejected. Here is what I sent: Hi Have you thought of putting your message out on the Portsmouth & Gosport list of Rootsweb? If not, I'm willing to post it there for you with your permission. All the very best with the restoration work, and I look forward to visiting it one day. My wife's family, the Albrays, originated in Fareham & Gosport back in the mid 1800s. Kindest regards, Jon http://www.albray.co.uk
