Do you think that the original entry would have any other information on where David JONES lived or was born or his parents? I am hoping that he was the David JONES who was b. 1816 Chalton,Hants. Parents possibly David JONES and Martha ELDRIDGE. Where is Hants? Are parish records available for Charlton, Hants? Can anyone help with this? You need someone to look up the full marriage entry from the register of Southampton St Mary. It will tell you the parishes of the bride and groom at the time of the marriage, but will not give the names of the parents. You can see examples of parish register entries at www.british-genealogy.com/resources/registers/indexf.htm Chalton registers are at Portsmouth City Records Office, but Hampshire Record Office has microfiche copies. An on-line search in Family Search (the IGI) found the baptism of David son of David and Martha Jones at Chalton on 10 Mar 1816. There were six Jones baptisms at Chalton between 1816 and 1840. The easiest way to find these is to search for Jones in Batch Number C066291.
