He went by the name Harry HOME. On the Census for 1891 and 1901 he is there - previously he was supposedly in "Flint County". Someone previously had suggested this was in "Flintshire "in Wales. However, sincei seeing this notice about the Flintshire Record Office - I am wondering if it was really this "Flintshire" he was from - (is it in Hampshire??) as his family did come originally from Southampton (Bitterne, Shirley, Millbrook) & Portsea. Would Flintshire be anywhere near these places? Unfortunately he would not have been on the 1881 census as he was in S.A. (Boer War) til about 1882 - then back to Preston for a while. Would there have been any amateur cricket teams in Flintshire he could have been playing for ? (In Ormskirk - he was the only paid professional on the amateur team there - he was a bowler.)
