    3. HI everyone, A relatively newbie on family history, but I've managed to find out a lot of info with what knowledge I do have! Quick question.... On a variety of census entries, in the Occupation column it may say "Em'ee" after an occupation. What does that mean? So for my great great grandfather, he's listed as a "Coal Miner (Em'ee)."     3. Sharon, probably just a "ploy" to confuse researchers. Try adding "ploy" in place of the apostrophe. Derek.
