I transcribed Dogmersfield marriages 30 years ago from the original registers, before they were put on fiche. The first set of marriages 1695-1745 contains the original entries. The second set is in the same register, but appears to be a neat copy of the original entries, made at a later date. The person who wrote the "neat copy" has made several errors. Unfortunately the printed transcript of Dogmersfield marriages in Volume 3 of Phillimore's Hampshire Marriages was taken from the "neat copy", and therefore includes the errors. Alan McGowan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hampshire OPC" Today we have uploaded as follows: DOGMERSFIELD BURIALS 1696-1782 DOGMERSFIELD MARRIAGES 1695-1745 (2 SETS) followed by a gap 1745-1754 and then complete for 1755-1912 DOGMERSFIELD BAPTISMS 1695-1766 All of these have been transcribed by WENDY KOUVARDINE (thanks,Wendy!) Where it refers to 2 sets of marriages 1695 -1745, there were literally 2 different registers with similar entries but in some cases, different spellings and in some, different names!
