My g-g-grandfather John Payne (d 17/6/1908 at Highcliffe) is not in the GRO death index. He would have been reg at Christchurch. There is a birth of John Payne in the same qtr and a death of Jane Payne (correct age of 73) in the same qtr, both reg at Christchurch. Assuming these are not him, and he has been left out of the index, how would I go about obtaining the details from the original registration office ? Many thanks. Regards Francis Auckland, NZ
