Thomas KENNARD was born in 1859 in Southampton. He married Rosina GOLDING in 1876 when she was aged 16. He does not appear in the 1881, but Rosina is shown as "wife of a fireman in West India Co." Likewise he does not appear in the 1891 where she is shown as "Living on own means" There were children born viz Herbert 1880-1880, Emily 1879-, Thomas 1877- I cannot yet find any of them in the 1901 1. I known of the East India Company and the West India Regiment but what is the West India Company? 2. Would "fireman" be a firefighter or a stoker (Thomas' brother was in the Merchant Navy) 3 . Would a married woman 'Living on her own means" suggest a separation ? David
