Genuki lists only St Thomas church - is this the same one ? Lymington had the following churches: St Thomas the Apostle All Saints Our Lady of Mercy & St Joseph (Roman Catholic) Particular Baptist, New Lane Independent, High Street (Old Town) Independent, Main Road, East End Wesleyan, Gosport Street Primitive Methodist, East End The Old Town Independent (Congregational) Chapel in High Street was founded in 1700, and is still active. It is now called Lymington United Reformed Church. I don't know if it is still in the original building. Records of the chapel (70 items) are held at Hampshire Record Office under reference 12M83. The HRO Catalogue can be viewed on-line. Search for Finding No 12M83. The following entries are in 12M83/1, 12M83/2, and 12M83/11: Baptisms 1843-1921,1953-1955 Marriages 1848-1885,1900-1971 Burials 1847-1885,1903,1954-1955 Deaths 1848-1859,1929-1937 (plus Death certs 1828-1921) Membership Lists 1821-1861, 1848-1937. (The deaths are in the Membership Lists) Baptisms 1753-1837 are at TNA under references RG 4/721, RG 4/2300, RG 4/2301.
