    3. Hi Marge - if you send for the birth certificate of one of the children it should give the mother's maiden name and other information. This would help to locate Fanny in earlier censuses etc and also her birth registration. Marriage certificates should give father's names and actual date of marriage plus some information. FreeBMD have an explanation of what is on the various certificates which you might find useful. http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/Certificates.html Searching for 'Fanny' born Odiham c1848 in the earlier censuses brings up a number of names - I'm not sure what 'search criteria' you are referring to?
