I have a marriage between ROGER EDMUNDS, Labourer of Littleton, and MARY HEATRELL of Bishops Waltham, on 22 Dec 1736 in Littleton, Hants. I have not been able to trace either family back earlier than this. Recently I came across the following website : http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dutillieul/ZOtherPapers/NewS&WJ31Jul1786.html which contained the following reference: /*Some Selected Reports from the Salisbury & Winchester Journal* //BISHOP's-WALTHAM, HANTS, July 23, 1786. ALL persons who have any demand on the late Mr. JOHN HEATRELL, cordwainer, deceased, are hereby desired to deliver in their accounts, that they may be discharged.- And such persons as are in any respect indebted to the said deceased, are requested immediately to pay the same to Mrs. MARY EDMUNDS, his executrix, or to Richard Cole, of Bishop's Waltham aforesaid, who is authorised to settle his accounts. / It is possible that this Mary Edmunds is one and the same who married Roger, above. I am wondering whether any kind person might have access to the Hampshire Will Index 1571-1858, which I understand is on Microfiche at the Hants Record Office, who might be willing to look up this reference for me? Am I right in thinking it might give more information on the deceased and the executrix? Failing this, would my best bet be to ask the Record Office to undertake a search of the Will for me?
