    2. Hi Sharon, I'm certain that there was a certain elasticity in people's ages. In some cases they might been around too long for them to remember ( wasn't that polite?!). In the case of deaths, the people reporting them were not related to the bodies so guessed. People eager to get married ???? so upped their age. In the case of lodgers their landlord just guessed. It most certainly is not a good yard stick to rely on.
