Hi Lynn Congratulations on finding another generation :-) If your Charles HARDY (1809) was born on the Isle of Wight, it would be well worth joining the Isle of Wight group ... http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/ENG/ISLE-OF-WIGHT.html or at least checking their archives. I've just checked my huge RANN tree from the island, but sadly no link with HARDY. Also, have a look at this site... http://www.isle-of-wight-fhs.co.uk/ and particularly the BMD Index as they have a searchable index of all the IoW records from 1837 to 2002 (2004 for Deaths). Although this doesn't go back to 1809, it may give you some cousins etc. There's also a huge card index of earlier records at the IoW Record Office in Newport, so you could try asking if anyone would take look for you next time they're in there. It's a very friendly group, if a little quiet at present. Charles HARDY born about 1809 in Isle of Wight. He married Jane Moss (I believe in Overton), and had a number of children in Overton before moving to Somerset. The children are born in Hampshire are: George, William, Leonard and Jane, and they were born between 1835 adn 1841. I'm descended from Charles, born 1844 in Taunton, Somerset. I would love to hear from anyone who might have a connection. Thanks.
