Hi again Lynn Have you got access to www.ancestry.co.uk ? If not, let me know and I'll send you some census images - your Charles HARDY (1809) doesn't appear to be too sure about where he was born - he lists different places on every census that I've found him on. Not very helpful :-) and to make matters worse he is shown as Charles HARDEN on the 1851 census. Nice little puzzle for you. What made me suspicious is that there is a Charles HARDY christened in Buriton Hampshire in 1809 on the IGI - see http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_I GI.asp&clear_form=true Hope this helps, rather than causes more trouble. Charles HARDY born about 1809 in Isle of Wight. He married Jane Moss (I believe in Overton), and had a number of children in Overton before moving to Somerset. The children are born in Hampshire are: George, William, Leonard and Jane, and they were born between 1835 adn 1841. I'm descended from Charles, born 1844 in Taunton, Somerset. I would love to hear from anyone who might have a connection. Thanks.
