    3. I am trying to trace the parents of Frederick Easther (my 2x g grandfather), married Lymington 1839. According to his marriage certificate his father was John Easther a surveyor. Under free BDM I found a John Easther who died December 1858 at South Stoneham. If someone with access to more detailed records is able to check this out and tell me if this John Easther was a surveyor it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rod in Tasmania, Australia

    3. G'day Rod Have you access to the 1851 Census records? Although people were much more mobile in the 19th C than we often give them credit for your Frederick might have been a home body rather like my grandmother who was born 1880, and died in the same house 76 years later. If you search the census records you might find him in S Stoneham registration district which is where his death was registered. Hope this helps.
