Hi Linda and Tony This is helpful but I have a bit of a quandary. When John died in 1847, he left everything to nephews and nieces - nothing to any children. Perhaps none of them survived? His will states John was a Foreman of Engineers at Woolwich dockyard - do you think a shipwright could have become a foreman of engineers? I appreciate your help - I have had a break from family history as I lost my husband in October but am now trying to get my life back on track and this hobby helps take my mind off things.
