On the IGI, I found a John KINGSTON who married a Mary GRANT in Portsea on 18 September 1808. Clues might be witnesses to the wedding or the Father's occupation. John KINGSTON was the brother of William KINGSTON who was a master Millwright at Portsmouth Dockyard and I am trying to discover if this was the right John. Jean

    3. Hi Linda and Tony This is helpful but I have a bit of a quandary. When John died in 1847, he left everything to nephews and nieces - nothing to any children. Perhaps none of them survived? His will states John was a Foreman of Engineers at Woolwich dockyard - do you think a shipwright could have become a foreman of engineers? I appreciate your help - I have had a break from family history as I lost my husband in October but am now trying to get my life back on track and this hobby helps take my mind off things. Thanks again Jean -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Linda & Tony Sent: 01 March 2008 11:10 To: [email protected] Subject: [HAM] John KINGSTONs children Hello Jean Here are the full details of the three baptisms.
