I have an Emily EMERY born c1813 in Havant, Hampshire, marrying in Stepney in 1845. As far as I can tell, she and her husband had no children, and after her own death her husband has two nieces, Emily EMERY (born c1856 in Kensington) and Ann EMERY (born c1861 in Kensington), living with him. I cannot find any of these women on census prior to 1851 for the older Emily, and on 1861 and 1871 for the two nieces. If anyone can shed any light on possible parentage for Emily of Havant, I'd be grateful. Have also checked IGI and just about every other index possible so possibly can't see the wood for the trees. 1861 has an Emily and Ann born Kensington, nowhere near correct age even allowing for a generous leeway. Thank you.

Havant and Alverstoke are not really in "the same area" - some 15 miles as the crow flies but with Portsmouth Harbour separating them. By road, the trip would be even longer and slower.
