Thanks, Jon and Edna and others who replied. No list of stations (either of the past or of today) that I have seen has one whose name much resembles what I deciphered as Caskel Bay. I could not download or open the map that Edna suggested, but believe it is of current stations, less likely to solve the problem than an older list. I think some stations were probably not known by their geographic location. Perhaps this was a since-discontinued station, most likely in West Sussex, near some coastal location whose name is still known to us. Alternative: it is the name of a ship, not a land-based station. For example, several men were posted to "Enchantress" during this decade. I can find no location named that, but Google turns up HMS Enchantress. Thanks for talking about this with me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Baker" <baker.jon@sky.com> To: "'Stephen Shafer'" <shpcount@earthlink.net>; <hampshire@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 15, 2009 2:54 PM Subject: RE: [HAM] enquiry re place name Caslek Bay (?) > Stephen > I was going to suggest Selsey until I saw that you already mentioned it.
