    3. Hi there Wendy. IGI has a baptism of a Robert SHERIN in Portsea in 1822 - parents Robert and Mary Ann. This is a possible family in 1841: Cumberland St, St Mary's, Southampton. Robert SHERIN 50 Shoemaker Mary 38 Mary 19 Robert 17 George 13 Jane 10 Fanny 7 George 8 mths. All listed as born in county Robert may be in Andover in 1851: 29 Grove St Robert SHERIN 23? B Southampton Ann 26. B ? Robert 5. B Brighton, Sussex George 3. B Andover, Hampshire Ann 1 B Andover, Hampshire. Robert's parents appear to be next door. In 1861 Robert Snr and Mary are back in Southampton. Your Robert appears to be in South Stoneham: Robert SHERIN 36 Stonemason. B England Ann 37 B Hound? Hampshire Robert 16 Labourer. B ? Hampshire George 14 Errand Boy. B Hampshire Ann 12 John 10 Eliza 8 Sarah 7 Edward 2 Albert ? mths All children listed as born Hampshire but image is difficult to read. I have been unable to find the entry on Ancestry. Ann appears to have died in 1867, registered in Croydon. In 1881 the family is in Bermondsey in Surrey - Robert now gives his age as 46! Robert SHERRIN 46 Stone Mason. B Southampton Sarah 36. B Ringwood, Hampshire Clara 11. B Chartford, Kent Samuel 7. B St Pancras, Middlesex Albert 6. B St Pancras, Middlesex. And this may be Robert in 1891: St Mary Robert SHERIN? 68 Stone Mason. B Southampton Walter 6. B Southampton There is an added note which looks like 'Wife left today'. I don't see the others in 1891. The son Robert from the first marriage appears to be in Lambeth in most censuses to 1901. Hope this is useful, and hope it is the correct family for you. Apologies if you have this already of course.
