Hi Gail By that year, most of the churchyards were full and municipal cemeteries such as Mile End (opened 1831)and Kingston were being used (Milton did not open until about 1910). Some burials were still in churchyards (family plots etc) and so it is a bit of a needle in a haystack. You could try the Portsmouth Bereavement Office at Milton Cemetery (search list archives for the email address) and they may be able to help. Not one of Tony's by the way - his were all fine upstanding citizens from Banbury and Birmingham. The Sussex lot were a fringe part of Linda's tree. I don't see anything on the OPC site. Sincere thanks and hope - GAIL in Ontario (Caroline was a Knight d/o Wm/Mary Knight of Sussex related to Tony's family tree) For FREE online parish register transcriptions and other information visit www.knightroots.co.uk.
