    1. [HAM] PAGE family of Gosport

    3. I'm new to the list - my chief wish at the moment is for information about the Page family of Gosport. One of my Page ancestors who migrated to South Australia in 1850 used a crest on his stationery. The crest is a blue 'demi seahorse' (= top half of a stylised seahorse), over a Gothic capital P. The standard work on crests (Fairbairn) identifies the device as belonging to the Gosport Pages. I have another image of the crest, on a piece of Royal Worcester china - again the crest is ascribed to the Gosport Pages ... about whom I can find no information. My ancestor was James Page (b. London 1825); his father was Henry Page (origins obscure). I would be grateful for any help and advice Best wishes from Cornwall Ian _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Trusted email with Microsoft’s powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/196390706/direct/01/
