    3. Hi Trish, Have you made a mistake and the area is Chertsey Surrey and not Portsea. I look on I.G.I. and there is a family with a son Henry Richard Hunt born 15th July 1840 but was deceased by 1841. I will send census off list. I am looking for the parents and siblings of course of William Hunt born 1835c Andover, his brother Henry Richmond Hunt b 1840c Andover. I am presuming they are brothers because in one census Henry is living with William's wife family as a lodger. I know I shouldn't presume but... I can't find either in the 1841 nor 1851 census. Can anyone help ? I live in Australia so can't get to see parish records. I also live in the country of West Aust, so also unable to get to the Library in Perth to see records. The local LDS is over 50 kms away and is not wheelchair friendly, so I rely on the net and of course BDM's certificates. Would be grateful for any help. I do btw use Ancestry.co.uk to its full use!! 3. Dear List Seeing mention of RANN on the posting about 'THOMAS family of Boldre' has encouraged me to stop lurking and post my main interest in the area. I'm particularly interested in all RANN families in the area, because I've finally traced my Isle of Wight RANN lines back onto the mainland. I've been aware for ages of all the RANNs in the Beaulieu/Fawley/Boldre area and thought that there must be a link with my 4xgreat grandfather William RAN(N). He appears to have been the first RANN on the IoW, perhaps arriving in the Freshwater area sometime before his marriage to Mary CHIVERTON on 17th April 1776. I believe that nearly all the IoW RANNs descend from this couple. The remaining few, commonly known as the 'Blacksmith RANNs' descend from Benjamin RANN (born Beaulieu 1818) and Sarah WHITE (born Beaulieu 1821). I now know that my 4x great-grandfather, William RAN(N) was baptised in 1746 at Milford on Sea (a little hop across the Solent to Frashwater). His parents were George RANN (1711-1802) and Elizabeth ARNOLD (1711-1796) who married in Milford on Sea 01/05/1746. I would really love to find a connection between the Milford RANNs and those from the Beaulieu/Fawley/Boldre area, so that I can finally prove that all the IoW RANNs are related. It would be good to hear from anyone who has links/interests in any RANNs in the area and/or ARNOLD as that is now in my direct line too.
