Well don't think I'm going to go back any further with my EADES lineage, so am now going to follow some of the sons marriages Am looking to find any info on Elizabeth VICORY the only info I have, is this Born 1867 and died 1947 she was married to Henry EADES of Elvetham, he being the brother of my grandfather. This info in family bible, but that is all there is on her. A visit to their grave at Hartford Bridge, showed me that Henry was indeed married to an Elizabeth. Anyone else on the VICORY/VICKERY sp vars got her please? many thnx Cher
Hi, Just a question -- using the old roads, circa 1894, how many miles and how long would it take to travel by horse n' cart from Southsea to Midhurst? Thanks kindly, Edna ~ Ottawa
I am researching GEORGE VEITCH BROWN born 1859 in Scotland. He married Harriet Stevens and they lived in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. Any information will be much appreciated. Christine
Hi I am looking for the birth/baptism of ROBERT GOODALL who gives his birth place as Basingstoke. He married EMMA(AMY) THOMAS in 1816 in New Alresford and raises his family in East Meon from then until 1836 when, for some reason, he moves and in 1841 his family are in the workhouse and he is described as a "travelling agricultural labourer". EMMA dies shortly after the census and he moves around the county until in 1871 he is living with his married daughter when he is shown as being aged 81 and dies three years later when he is shown as being 90 though I think the census age is correct. Is anyone connected to the GOODALL family or may have access to the Basingstoke register and is able to verify his birth date and place. ROBERT has a daughter LUCY in 1821 who marries at Fareham in 1841, WILLIAM KNIGHt. Hoping to discover something; ED.
I am researching the Cranham family from Blackwater / Hawley / Yateley area. They lived in a house called 'Roseneath' in Blackwater during the last century. Does anyone have any information on the house or family? Christine

I have several Keturah Paynes (or Pains) in my Hampshire line in Christchurch late 1700s and early 1800s. One seems to be my 4g-grandfather's sister, another is his daughter and another his niece. Also another of that name yet to be connected. I note that the Keturah Payne name also occurs frequently in USA families. Is there something about the combination of Keturah (not a common first name) and Payne that I'm not aware of !! Any suggestions most welcome. Regards Francis Payne Auckland, New Zealand
Hi, Is Keith Hellyer still on the list? Please contact me if you can. Thanks, Edna - Ottawa [email protected]

Hi Trish, Glad that they were the right Hunts, I have looked for the Hannah and Ann but I couldn't find them, if they are using Hampshire and not Andover its a bit difficult. But they should have been on the 1851. I am going to Winchester Archives sometime in April, this is where the Andover collection is. I can look on the parish registers as they are on microfiche and wont take very long. Hi Val thank you very much for the image!! I didn't think it was this person because of where they were born. I was actually looking for Andover, Hamsphire. I do not know anything about the counties of England, I never actually thought to look on the IGI, I will do that now. William settled in Portsea and that is the family I am searching for. Thank you very very much again. Hi Trish, I found the right Hunts there are showing just the initial of there name no wonder they are a bit elusive. On the 1851 on Ancestry if you put in Hunt and Andover they all pop up. On the 1841 there is only the Hannah and Ann. According to the Kellys directory of 1900, there was a Frederick Charles Bearman living at 79 Malins Road; a John Bearman living at 68 Ivy Street, These are also on the 1901 census with families, (which I will send if they are of relevance) but no Bearmans in Longs Road Best wishes Ros >I have looked in the 1891 and 1901 census and there doesn't seem to be any >Bearmans living in Longs Road in Portsea.
