Martin, You will find them on Ancestry transcribed as PEARE at RG9, Piece 712, Folio 75, Page 23 Regards, Eileen -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Martin Wright Sent: 24 April 2008 22:19 To: [email protected] Subject: [HAM] Alfred and Harriet Pearce 1861 Census Hi Folks I'm trying to find Alfred and Harriet (or Harriett) in the 1861 Census. Alfred married Harriet Cole during the March 1857 Quarter in Whitchurch. In the December Quarter of the same year they had a son Alfred George again registered in Whitchurch. In the March 1860 quarter they had a daughter Sarah Jane also registered in Whitchurch. Catherine arrived in 1865 and Lucy in 1868. In the 1871 Census the family as detailed above were listed in the Census as living in London Street, Whitchurch, Hampshire. My problem is that I can find no trace of them anywhere in the 1861 Census. Is anyone in a position to do a lookup for me, particularly of the London Street area? My COUZENS (and variants) so far go back to Havant 1675 Other surnames connected to this branch in Hamp are: POLLINGTON, BAILEY (twice), CUTLER, CATHERY & VOKES (Surrey) Eventually my branch ended up in Emsworth/Warblington and then on to West Dean, W Ssx. My gg Caroline Couzens was born 1864 in West Dean, Ssx and came here to Ontario in 1872 at 8 years of age as a British Home Child. I have a lot of informaion on the Home Children. Hoping someone on the list is also connected to one of these branches, I look forward to corresponding with you. GAIL in Ontario

Hi Brian I thought it might give a clue in the Kelly's Directory. The 1911 shows: Maitland Capt. Reginald Paynter (late R.A.), Bartley manor Baines Miss, Forest house There's no sign of a Swinburn (or similar) family in 1911. Also, Bartley Manor and Forest House aren't really neighbours. If you put 'forest house, beechwood road, bartley' into Google Maps then 'bartley manor, bartley' you'll see that they are across the fields from one another. Hope this helps Kate -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Brian Gould Sent: 23 April 2008 09:13 To: [email protected] Subject: [HAM] Swinburne / Swinbourne? If you go to http://www.isle-of-wight-fhs.co.uk/index.htm and click on marriages you can search for an approximate year on there. You can put in 5 year time periods and then keep doing so until you find the marriage. This can also be done for births and deaths. Thanks to the IOWFHS for providing this facility. Hope this helps,Linda and Tony
Hi Is there AKS who could look at the electoral lists for the Isle of Wight.C1930 I am looking for Thomas J Farrell and his wife Edith nee Burr of 6 Cyprus Villa, Ocean View Road Ventnor I.O.W. I am trying to find when they married. They married sometime after 1925 but I cannot find it on the GRO index. I know the Thomas was living at Ventnor on the I.O.W in 1933 but don't know if he was married. They both died in 1952 Edith on the I.O.W and Thomas in Surrey. This was the second marriage for Thomas who was a widower his first wife dying, I think, in Canada. Any information on this couple would be appreciated. Thank you

I have the following marriage "Robert Hussell and Olive/Olave Barlow were married 17 Oct 1813, Cliddesden, Hampshire, England". Does anybody know if the parents of Robert Hussell and Olive Barlow would be recorded on this marriage record during the 1813 time frame? It would be a C of E marriage I believe. Robert Hussell was born at Elsfield Hampshire and Olive Barlow was born at Bramley Hampshire. Margaret Gordon
