This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hamilton, Wheeler Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xFh.2ACEB/3294 Message Board Post: I recently purchased three early 20th century studio photographs of Hamilton ancestors from an antique shop in Oswego, Illinois. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them. 1) A photo which I feel is surely the wedding photo of “Bill and Grace Hamilton”. This was taken in about 1910-1915, by my estimate, and it shows Bill wearing glasses, and Grace sitting by his side, wearing a dress of white lace (no headcovering, however). Her ring finger is not showing, and there are no flowers, but it looks for all the world like a wedding photo. I would estimate her age at about 18-22, and he seems to be about 21-25 or so, give or take a few years. The photo is 4” x 6”, and mounted into a tri-fold presentation frame of 6-3/4” x 11”. 2) A photo of a little girl, about two years old, identified as Grace Mae Wheeler – and in another spot on the photo as “Grace Hamilton”. I believe this was taken in about 1890+or minus a few years, based on the size of the photo and the backing. It was taken by the Taylor Studio, Aurora (Kane Co.) IL. This cute little girl is wearing a ¾ length white dress, which just might be a christening dress. The photo is 2-1/2” x 4” and mounted on a 4-1/4” x 6” heavy cardstock, as was typical during that time period. 3) A postcard photo of a baby “Justin Hamilton”, who looks to be about 8 months old. He is a cute, chubby baby, and markings on the card identify it as having been taken between 1910-1920. These photos are originals, and not copies. My only wish is to reunite them with family. If any of these people are in your family, please do NOT post here, but Email me at margerice@prodigy.net. ==== HAMILTON Mailing List ==== Great search engine http://www.familytreemagazine.com/search/
