"Hammy" Hamilton, 81, of Wildflower Drive, Concord, died Thursday at the Hospice House in Concord. He was born in Cambridge, Mass., the son of John and Catherine (Robbins) Hamilton. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was formerly of Canton, Mass., and lived in Mast Yard West in Concord for 16 years before moving to the home of his daughter on Wildflower Drive in Concord. Hamilton worked as a truck driver for Pains Furniture in Boston, WW Welch in Medford, Mass., and Casey & Hayes in Boston. He was a past member of the American Legion in Cambridge, Mass. He was a member of the St. Pters Church in Concord. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary (Cullinane) Hamilton of Concord; two daughters, Eleanor Hamilton of Westwood, Mass., and Mary Fidler of Concord; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will not be held. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. in St. Peters Church, 135 N. State St., Concord. A reception will follow. Graveside services will be held Jan. 6 at 1 p.m. in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302-1797 for the Hospice House of the Hospice Program. Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services Inc. (AFCS) is in charge of the arrangements. Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are.
