My maternal grandmother was Emily Valletta Hamilton (Daniels). Though family recollections are that she was born in Indiana in Feb. of 1853, her family could have come from VA. She travelled to Des Moines, IA where she met and married Stephen Henry Daniels, born in Monroe County, PA in 1854. Don't know if you have this info or not, but could this be your family in 1880? The K could be a misreading of the census by the transcriber...you would have to check the microfilm. Looks like Stephen may have been born OH, but his parents born PA.
