Myrta, during the 1800s, there were about 30 HAMILTON landowners in AR. My James W. HAMILTON was one of those who homesteaded in Pike Co in 1870s. He came from Camus, Strabane, County of Tyrone, IRE. He was b. 1827, Came to US in 1848, supposed to have been naturalized in New Orleans In 1851-2; joined the Confederacy in 1861 Arkansas; mar Lawrence County, AL 1868 to Sarah A. Bain. He died in Sevier Co. AR 1/14/1918. I take interest in Hamiltons who settled in SW AR.
