My Hamilton link to this line is through my 5th great grandmother, Jane Hamilton of Drumeny, daughter of James Hamilton of Prospect and Marion Hamilton, daughter of Hugh Hamilton of Drumeny (2). Hugh was great grandson of John Hamilton in Priestfield and grandson of William Hamilton of Priestfield, then later, Ballyfatton, and his wife, Janet Moore and son of Hugh Hamilton of Drumeny (1). Marion and her husband, James were first cousins. James's father was a brother(name not known) of Hugh Hamilton of Drumeny (2). My uncle had research done on the family by Debrett. There was a significant amount of Hamilton inter-marriage which can be very confusing indeed. I do not have a known male relative in the DNA study as my descent was through a female line.
