Archibald Houston & JOHN HAMILTON was called into Court and bound in Recognisance each in the Sum of 200 pounds Currency to be and attend here during the Sitting of the next Court to give evidence on behalf of the State. 1774 April Session: Ordered by the Court that JOHN HAMMELTON have a License to Keep a Tavern at his now Dwelling House, his Securities are William Querry & John Black who Entered into Bond with him according to Law in such Cases made and provied. 1832 August Session: In pursuance of An Act of the General Assembly passed in the year 1831 John Sloan made the following report of Taxes collected to wit: Merchants- JHN. W. HAMILTON $8.00 and 9 others. Trust Deeds, May -September 1840: June 10th 1840 - Deed of Trust James D. Price to H. C. HAMILTON for two horse beasts, 5 head of cattle, all his household & kitchen furniture, 1 bale cotton & his interest in his present growing Crop on the lands of Mrs. L. Connor to secure [the payment of] debts therin mentioned, bearing date 9th June 1940, proved by Peter Kinder. Trust Deeds, August - October 1841: September 6th 1841. Deed of Trust from James D. Rice to H.C. HAMILTON for his presents growing Crop, Corp & Cotton to to secure the payment of debts therin mentioned, bearing date 10th Sept 1841, proved by J. P.
