John Sanford “Sanders” Hamilton who was born Sept. 20, 1846 in South Carolina; moved with his father to Alabama in 1860. Died June 6, 1917; at the age of 70. He was my great grandfather and I know nothing of his mother and father and his brother. “Sanders” Hamilton married Martha Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Roberts) Hamilton in 1868. She was born Feb. 8, 1848, and died in 1927. They had nine children; the family traveled from Tennessee to Arkansas in 1882 in covered wagons and settled in Saline County, Arkansas in 1889.
