    3. Saly I have a James Hamilton from Orange Co. Va. born Jan. 15, 1757. He married a Nancy. This is the James that moved to Amherst Co about between 1760-1770. Following Revolutionary War he later moved to SWVA - In Russell Co in 1810, in Lee Co in 1833 and finally moved to McMinn Co. Tn. about 1835 where he died in 1844. I believe the parents to James were Luke and Sussanah Hamilton. On Luke's death in 1787, James and Sussanah posted a bond at Amherst Courthouse for Luke's estate. This is same Luke that sold land (53 acres at head of Cub Creek) to James in Amherst Co in 1782. Possible brothers to James include: William Hamilton - served in Revolutionary War from Amherst Co - no other data Henry Hamilton - was in Amherst Co by 1760 per one record - no additional data Robert Hamilton - remained in Amhesrt Co - maine link to current Nelson County Hamilton line. There are quite a few court records regarding Robert in 1820s. I am interested in any additional information on Luke Hamilton. What a great thing to do, and what a great find, for someone, if not me. I am interested in a James Hamilton, born in Orange County Virginia in 1754 and married a Nancy? and that is as far back as I have gone. > Saly Hamilton > > ______________________________
