    1. [HAM] HAMILTON in Maryland and Ohio
    2. Hi All, Where are all the Hamiltons out there? Not many emails for such a common name. My Sarah HAMILTON was born in Maryland in about 1794. It is a total guess on my part that she might have been Sarah SCARFF who married George HAMILTON. She had at least two sons, Owen and Levi and was in Falls Township, Hocking County, Ohio in 1840 and Monday Creek Township, Perry County, Ohio in 1850. They are next to each other. Owen stayed in Ohio and Levi moved north to Michigan. Can anyone help me prove or disprove my idea? Carol

    3. Hi, My grandmother was Edna Hamilton, born in NY. in 1893. She married Martin Van Slyke also born in NY, in 1886. Her parents were John Hamilton and Ella Bowman. That's all I know......anyone working on this line? They are my brick walls. Jakki, a NY'er living in California > Hi All, > > Where are all the Hamiltons out there? 3. I wish I could just find mine in Maryland. the 1850 census Tallapoosa/elmore or Coosa (my records are at home) County Alabama shows George Hamilton born Ma. I suppose that means Massachusetts. 1860 Coosa County, Alabama census shows him born SC. There was a William Hamilton next door in 1850 census, could be his father, could be an uncle at the age is showed. To get further back is a nightmare, with all the movement and Williams and George's. Sorry I can't help and I would if I could. -- "This is what the past is for!
