Hamilton who lived in Hardin County, Tennessee in the 1860s. He was born in 1846 in South Carolina and died in 1917. He married Martha Elizabeth “Lizzie” Roberts 1868. She was born in 1848. They had four sons: Ira Lucis, b. 1881, Samual Aughtry, b. 1877, Henry Quit, b. 1888, and Oscar Eugene. And five daughters: Emma Retta, Lula Addassa, Beckie Anner, Hattie Jewel and Bertrass Grace. The family traveled from Tennessee to Arkansas in 1882 in covered wagons and lived in Saline County, Arkansas. J. S. Hamilton was my great grandfather. Jack Salley Salleys@myexcel.com

What county was he from in South Carolina? My Hamilton ancestors are from the Charleston area - I'll have to look up the county, I've been away from this for a while..
