It is believed that Archibald's great grandfather was the Rev. Andrew Hamilton born 1613. Andrew was married to Rebecca Galbraith. I know this is too early for your time frame, but your Jane might have been named after one of her grandmothers. The following is from The Wrays of Donegal by Charlotte Violet Trench. The information in this part of the work is taken from two Chancery Bills dated 1678 & 1679. James, John, William, Humphrey, Robert Galbraith were brothers. James Galbraith's daughters and their husbands: Rebecca Galbraith m Andrew Hamilton Elizabeth Galbraith m James Galbraith (her first husband was a Lisdivin Hamilton) Angell Galbraith m Hugh Hamilton Margaret Galbraith m William Hamilton Robert Galbraith and Jane Coningham's (of Castle Coningham) daughters: Margery m Lt. William Hamilton Rebecca m andrew knox Lettice m Henry Wray of Castle Wray Robert Galbraith's granddaughters: Jane Galbraith m Archibald Richardson Isabella Galbraith m Andrew Hamilton (s/o above Andrew) Anne Galbraith m John Sinclair Humphrey's daughters: Lettice Galbraith m Michael Sampson Marianna Galbraith m John Leslie Angel Galbraith m William Wray The elder Andrew Hamilton who married Rebecca Galbraith had a son named James Hamilton. This James m Catherine Leslie. They had a large family.
