Author: HelenHamilton51 Surnames: Hamilton, Beatty Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.hamilton/4036.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My great uncle Alexander Hamilton (with wife Mary Ann Beatty) settled in Portland, OR about 1860. He had emigrated about 1845 from Tyrone Co, IRL with siblings who settled in OH. Several in family were named Claude. Alexander was prominant in developing Portland as was his son, Alexander. Could you tell me whether you think there might be a connection between Earl and Claude Hamilton and my Alexander Hamilton family. If so, I have much more info to share.
