Ann, My family also goes back to the early Dutch New Nederland. My BOGARTS are spelled three different ways, as far as I know: BOGAERT, BOGAART and BOGART, but not BOGARDUS. The earliest one I know about, Adriaen Tunis BOGAERT, married Susanna HAMILTON sometime in the 1600s. It's hard to think there isn't a connection here somewhere! I queried this list not long ago, looking for information on Susannah. I have no information on her at all, except that she m Adriaen Tunis BOGAERT and they apparently lived in New Amsterdam/New York. Do you by any chance know anything about Susannah HAMILTON or any BOGART/BOGAERT/BOGAART people? If you do, I'd be very interested. Thanks and good luck - Edie in Maine
