Recently several new sets of Hamilton DNA results have been uploaded to <http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/g/a/gah4/HamDNA/Results.html>. Some highlights from the current summary are: the results for over 140 participants are now reported and matches for more than 70% of the participants have been found; those that match others have been divided into 11 different groups (Groups A through K) with the largest group (Group A) having 37% of all participants; the DNA profile for the Abercorn line, the senior male Hamilton line, has been determined and it matches the profile for one of the groups; and the DNA profile for a Swedish Hamilton line, thought to be derived from the Hamiltons of Dalserf, Scotland, has also been obtained. With this database of Hamilton profiles now available, those of you with Hamilton connections are encouraged to have the DNA of your Hamilton line analyzed because you now have an excellent chance of finding DNA matches and, by comparing notes, possibly being able to extend the knowledge of your line considerably.
