Hello, Dorothy, I have a David Wilson Hamilton born in Cumnock, Ayrshire in 1815. His father was Robert. His mother was Marion nee BOE. David married a lady called Agnes. I do not have her surname. I have four children listed at present: Margaret 1838 Marion 1843 Thomas 1847 Female 1849 I have other Hamiltons linked to Barony but this is the only David. Regards, Ron Hamilton.

Thank you for your reply Ron, it does look as though he may be my David, if his wife was a WEST, and they had a son William- eighth child c. 1831, born in Barony, Glasgow . It seems there may have been a group baptism, when about four or five of the children were older. I am grasping at straws I know. On my Great Grandfather, William Hamilton's death record, signed by his daughter Elizabeth, it is stated that his parents were William Hamilton and Mary West, there is an endless supply of Williams , but no Mary's or Mary West's. Also none of the children named Mary or West. I keep being told that the records can be wrong, with parents shown being completely wrong. So thought I would give the David Hamilton, Agnes West couple a whirl to see if perhaps their William was mine, but then to prove he really was my William, is another brick wall.
